Cub petting means the cubs are snatched away from the mother to be used as photo props to make money. The cubs are sick and abused WHILE the photos are being taken. Either the people who pay for the petting either doesn't notice the stress and abuse, or all they care about is social media likes.

From the videos I watched in this channel. This is the "kindergarten" area of the zoo. Where the baby animals learn their basic skills and social with other abandoned baby animals. They still need the most attention from zoo keepers. Once they grow to certain age/size, zoo keepers move them to "school" area, and train them to hunt or survive and later on move them to much bigger outdoor area. (I think most of the zoos do the same thing)

❌ 1.- That was Merkaat's chair, he spent time digging in it, it's like his burrow. They put baby tigers in Merkaat's zone knowing that could happen. 2.- They punish the Merkaat when he was right making him get more upset and make fun of the babies because they did not attack the Merkaat. 3.- They see the chimpanzee got agressive towards baby tigers. What they do? Open the door for him to harass them. 4.- They give to the baby tigers a Merkaat plush to be bitten and torn WTF Do they expect the tigers to do the same with the real Merkat or what? 3:40 the way she grabs the baby tiger by his ear They are increasing their aggressiveness from an early age, and also that of the Merkaat by being that unfair
