Hi Sugar, Yeah, you can go to a kennel or a shelter or some pet store where they have cats and hold off on getting any cat that doesn't look you in the face and meow at you. Let the cat choose you and not the other way around.

Then I saw the kitty I've always wanted walking towards me in a parking lot. God gives you what you need when you need it. Over a decade, then finally one night I get the tuxedo kitty of my dreams 😻😻😻

@@evolu5144 of all the cats I've never had a Tuxedo, well, not within my house cats. When I had a Feral Cat Feeding Station my best 'door cat' buddy had been Blacky (yeah, in a feral cat feeding station sometimes the names aren't that creative). He became special for an odd but memorable reason: he bit me. I was trying to snatch grab catch him but didn't get the hold on his head and neck just right and he was able to turn in and bite my thumb, and so I dropped him and went one doing Feral Feeding Station Chores like nothing happened (... like I wasn't just trying to catch him. I wanted him to just forget about it so I could try again later without him being overly suspicious and shy for now on). Well, it turns out that cats are a symbiotic species that has evolved to get along with humans, and it deeply troubled him that he had bitten me (for no reason at all). So he became apologetic. He became my little buddy. I tried bringing him inside, but some ferals like inside and other will just camp out at the door and yowl. After 3 days Blacky decided to yowl at the door at night when I was trying to sleep. Out ya go! It's shame. A kid with a BB gun later shot and killed Blacky. I loved that thing. But, yeah, the first cat i had as an adult, was a parking lot cat, well, kitten. She had been an escapee from a Cat Lady who had more than 20 cats in her apartment and this one got out. She accosted me from behind. A little Tortoise Shell semi-longhair with a bushy Angora tail. Now my story gets miraculous. I went up to my apartment and I didn't have any cat food and so I made her some "tuna balls". It only took a few minutes from the way i remember. Okay, I tried since and I've never been able to make a "tuna ball". They just fall apart. But I gave that cat something that started as a can of tuna fish. That was the beginning of all my adult cat adventures. That thing saved me from what would probably been a bad marriage. Lovely woman and had dated her for more than 6 months and so there were these discussions "where is this relationship going". I was hesitant because it wasn't perfect and I'd been married before and know that problems are problems and they can be a problem. But I decided I can at least move in, and was going to cancel my lease and all that. THEN she tells me that she is allergic to cats and so I will have to leave Bobgirl behind. Uh, okay... but why didn't she tell me that earlier. On a first date that would have been a Forget About Her Fact. Why should it be different at six months, right? Plus, she did a few other squirrelly things, and the situation wasn't perfect. So I left a message (this was back in the 20th Century with a completely different Technology Set than today) "You know, change my mind. Not moving in. Make other plans for your Friday nights". A few nights later she came by to change my mind. I didn't. The next day poor Bobgirl was in a really bad way. The Vets said that she had experienced trauma. It took her about a month to die. I think that Beetch had kicked poor little Bobgirl as hard as she could. Bobgirl would have come up to her. Bobgirl thought she was a friend. Gawddammed Beetch. Yeah, I would have married her. Bobgirl saved me from that. Next cat. I knew my heart would break and so I swore, when I came home and found poor Bobgirl laying at my front door in the dead cat position (laying on the side, tail straight out and legs straight out, like they are positioned that way to look orderly... they must spasm into that position)... I swore the sun would not set until I had a new kitten, and jumped in the car and found one of those Shopper Papers and looked in the Pet Section and drove off and got a nice little Apple Head Siamese for $60. And then, maybe in memory of Bobgirl, I began to volunteer at Kennels and stuff. And I gave up on Women! the dammed cat kicking beetche!

I decided to be a Math Teacher as a second career, but, heck, they told me I had to know Math. It will be the first job where I had to know what I was doing. It must be part of that Globalization. Back when America was Great we were all just winging it. Not having any competition is apparently the only way to be really great, huh?
