The lever-style doorknob is more accessible to cats than round knobs since they can be pulled. Rounded doorknobs require a full grasp, which cats struggle with due to not having opposable thumbs. All the knobs being lever-style made it particularly easy for Moongchi to escape. As for the sliding door to the entryway, all it takes is a large enough lip to hook a claw on, and nearly any cat could pull that door open. With that said, I'm glad they found other ways for Moongchi to stay. He seems happier, and that's far better than just changing or covering the doorknobs.

What a cat!!! Brilliant. Exciting and the same time scary. I was always worried what if he would step out of the building. Vets are great in identifying root cause of behavior and solving them😁😅

Never sell cats short, they're very smart creatures. We had a cat named Tommy that could open doors, even though they had latches attached. He figured out to open them.

У нас у соседний был кот тоже бегал в подъезд, кому то это помешало, его ударили ногой..... Раньше камер в подъезде не было, сломали челюсть. Долго лечили, больше не бегал,прожил долго у них, больше 20 лет.

Le gatte sono molto intelligenti , ho 3 gatti di razza angora turco, non supporta vedere porte chiuse a casa ma no vuole dire che voleva scappare e solo per curiosare e sentire che tutto è suo ho messo mese per capirlo , ama guardare delle finestre del balcone e terazzo e quando ho ospiti a casa si mette in mezzo e partecipa alla conversazione con il suo miagolo🤣 fa ridere tutti, auguro felicità a questo gatto con il sue padrone 👍❤

'-' Não é novidade gatos são muito observadores e entendem mais do que agente imagina. Eu tinha um que nasceu com metade de uma das patas da frente e ele abria porta de ferro e até geladera. Nos deu muitos sustos até descobrirmos que ninguém abria e sim era ele sozinho. Já tive otro gato que arranhava caxa de leite para beber e agora tenho uma gata que insiste em usa o banheiro como dela fora o otro gato que liga tv e assiste. Os animais estão evoluindo cada vez mais.

I have a solution. Change the door lock to a knob lock. If it is an apartment situation then you could do an attachment from the inside of the door to the outside of the door. The other solution would be a door stop you put on the outside that would prevent it from being opened from the inside and when you're inside put the door stop on the inside. I usually use a door stop because my cat kept closing himself inside the bathroom. The door stop works.
