Meerkats are cooperative because they live in groups, but they are also very cautious, so it takes time to get used to them. Compared to dogs and cats, meerkats are not as friendly, but if you raise them from an early age, they will become friendly to people. However, meerkats are also known as the "gangsters of the savannah" and have a rough temperament. They may look small and cute, but it is important to remember that they are wild animals.

Some people do but in Korea, I've seen a few couple of people as well. Got to have lots of patience and energy since meerkat are full of energy and curiosity lol.

I love the meerkat, thier so cute! I used to watch the show that came out on Animal Planet. Flower was my favorite. I have a daushund and she reminds me of Flower when she stands on her hind legs. I should of named her after Flower. Can't wait for part 2 like everyone else. 🤗💕

I see a lot of comments on here regarding meerkats being sociable animals, and that is true. However in the wild, they need to stay in their family unit for protection against predators. Since Duri has been raised alone, I don’t know if he can be integrated into an existing family unit. 😕 His best bet is probably to be paired with a female so they can start their own family unit. If that isn’t possible, perhaps some enrichment? Walks are good, but maybe have an indoor sand area where he can dig, and bury meal worms in there for him to dig up, or maybe buy him grasshoppers. Duri is adorable though! I hope he is rescued safely! We have hawks and owls that could get him! 🙀🙀🙀

I don't think people should have these as pets. They are naturally wild animals, and are only tame as opposed to domesticated. He wants to stay outside like that because he belongs there, and he gets into trouble because he needs social interaction from other meercats. :/

Where do people get meerkats as pets .they are a wild animal and live in groups. He is cute beyond anything but I am not sure he shouldn't be with his group.

I don't understand why the owner gets frustrated with his meerkat not wanting to leave the beach. It's a wild animal. It's not a pet.

It is very cruel to have only 1 Meerkat, they naturally live in groups. They get really stressed without their own kind for companionship. They are not recommended for a pet anywhere unless it is handled by a professional 😤😠😡🚫

Meerkats don"t belong as pets. They live in a family unit....this baby needs to be taken to a VET so he can be taken to live with other MEERKATS.
